CONCORD -- Five people were hospitalized with minor injuries Monday after five cars collided less than a mile from the Concord police station, authorities said

The crash happened around 12:20 p.m. in the westbound direction of Monument Boulevard at Systron Avenue, authorities said. Five cars were involved in the pileup, which sent five people, including a 5-month-old baby, to the hospital with minor injuries.

Traffic slowed down on Monument Boulevard at the intersection, but traffic control prevented any major delays.
