PITTSBURG -- At least one person was injured in a one-car crash on Highway 4 that may have been caused by a runaway tire, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash, reported at noon, involved a blue Cadillac and happened at the Railroad Avenue offramp in the eastbound direction, California Highway Patrol Officer Ron Simmons said. Witnesses told CHP officers that a tire flew into the front window of the Cadillac, perhaps from the westbound side of the highway.
No other cars were involved. It was not known immediately how many people were in the Cadillac. Ambulances were dispatched to the scene, Simmons said.
