EL CERRITO -- Police are seeking the public's help in finding two men they say robbed an Advance America check-cashing store Dec. 11.

Around 1:10 p.m., El Cerrito police were called to the business at 10003 San Pablo Ave. Witnesses told police that two men forced the teller to open the register and threatened to shoot her. Police said a gun was simulated, but was never seen.

A second suspect opened the cash register and took out an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspects fled on foot to an awaiting 1990s green Buick. Police said the suspects were last seen heading northbound on Carlson Boulevard.

One suspect is described as roughly 5 feet 8 inches tall, 195 pounds, wearing a white hard hat over a black beanie and green sunglasses. He was also wearing a black sweatshirt under a yellow reflective vest and black pants.

The second suspect is described as short with a medium build. He was wearing a black ski mask, black jacket and a brown hooded sweatshirt.
