OAKLAND -- Children's Hospital Oakland filed a 40-page response in court Monday refuting the wishes of Jahi McMath's family to keep her on a ventilator past the court-appointed date. The hospital stated because the teen has been declared brain dead for over two weeks, she is no longer living and there is no reversal process.

The hospital went on to state the family has had more than enough time to search for a facility to take the teen in, and that it was "astonishing" to have family members, rather than appointed doctors, determine what is life and what is death.

Attached is the response in its entirety.
