Fire crews arrived at 9:32 p.m. to find flames coming from the apartment in the 1200 block of Trigger Court, but the woman and her four children were already outside, Battalion Chief Bryan Craig said. Crews were able to enter the apartment, and brought the fire under control in 2 minutes.
The ages and genders of the children were not released.
The apartment was damaged significantly, and it was not yet known if it would be salvageable. The Red Cross provided housing for the family, as well as for occupants in adjacent units affected by the fire.
No injuries were reported, Craig said.
