NEWARK -- A late-night fire that broke out at a home near Civic Center Park displaced a family of four, an Alameda County Fire spokeswoman said.
No one was injured in the blaze.
Fire crews responded at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday night to a report of a structure fire in the 6200 block of Cotton Avenue, fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles said.
Firefighters arrived and found a garage attached to the single-story home engulfed in flames.
Crews had the fire out in 12 minutes, Knowles said.
The fire displaced two adults and their two children for the night, she said.
No vehicles were inside the garage during the fire, she said. The cause of the fire was under investigation on Wednesday.
