ANTIOCH -- Two teenagers with gang ties have been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of a 36-year-old Antioch man on April 8, prosecutors said.
Rushawn Thomas was found with multiple gunshot wounds in front of Joe's Liquor & Food, located at 1911 D St., around 4:32 p.m. after officers responded to the store for calls of shots fired.
On Wednesday, prosecutors announced that Antonio Ayala, 18, and Anthony Perez, 17, were arrested and charged with murder as well as gang enhancements in connection with Thomas's death.
The motive in the slaying is not clear, and authorities have not released a possible connection between Thomas and the teens.
