ANTIOCH -- Fire crews needed only a half-hour early Thursday morning to extinguish a grass fire that broke out near Contra Loma Reservoir, a dispatcher for the Contra Costa Fire Protection District said.

The fire scorched three acres near James Donlon Boulevard and Pintail Drive but did not burn any homes or structures, according to the dispatcher. Crews were called to the fire at 12:05 a.m. and declared the fire under control at 12:35 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
