Fremont police are using social media to return more than two dozen stolen bicycles to their rightful owners.

Two weeks ago, a cache of 26 stolen bikes was discovered at an apartment in the 39700 block of Costa Way, after police received a call from a landlord who said that a tenant left the bicycles behind after suddenly vacating the apartment, said Lt. John Harnett.

Police believe the bicycles are stolen and have posted photos on the department's Facebook page at facebook.com/FremontPoliceDepartment.

The department is asking owners of recently stolen bicycles to view the bicycles and contact Community Service Officer Jodi Goralczyk at Jgoralczyk@fremont.gov if a bicycle they've had stolen matches one held by the police department.
