HAYWARD -- Two men were shot after an argument early Tuesday and remained hospitalized Tuesday afternoon, police said.

No one has been arrested, but investigators are working leads to locate the two suspects, who are known to them, police said. No one else was injured

The shooting occurred around 5:20 a.m. outside a home in the 200 block of Cooper Way.

Hayward police spokesman Sgt. Eric Melendez said there was a dispute among the four men earlier in the night. The two suspects returned to Cooper Way, the argument escalated and shots were fired. He did not provide details of the nature of the argument.

Both victims were taken to hospitals. One man had non-life-threatening wounds, and the other was in serious condition, Melendez said.
