CASTRO VALLEY -- A memorial and candlelight walk Friday will commemorate the 20th anniversary of teenager Jenny Lin's killing.

Jenny Lin, a musician and straight-A student, was 14 when she was found slain in her Castro Valley home on May 27, 1994. Her killer has not been arrested.

Her parents formed the Jenny Lin Foundation to promote child safety and music education. It sponsors a free summer music camp, provides music scholarships and holds a Stay Safe Contest.

The service begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Castro Valley Library, 3600 Norbridge Ave.

A $100,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the conviction of the person responsible for her death. The family asks anyone with information to call the sheriff's department at 510-667-7721 or the toll-free hotline at 855-4-Jenny-Lin (855-453-6695).
