PITTSBURG -- After restarting its Pittsburg Pops series earlier this year, the city will turn up the volume of entertainment acts starting later this month.
Musical acts are set to be held once a month at the recently renovated California Theatre, according to a Pittsburg Arts & Community Foundation news release.
First up June 21 is the Motown-inspired group The Best Intentions, and rock and blues guitarist Shane Dwight performs on July 12.
The Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra featuring Faye Carol comes to Pittsburg on Aug. 16. That show will include a special preshow workshop and lecture at the Pittsburg Library.
The summer season closes Sept. 20 with Latin/Flamenco performer Rolando Morales.
All shows begin at 8 p.m. Individual tickets begin at $15 and can be purchased at the theater box office, 351 Railroad Ave.
