HAYWARD -- Police arrested a man for allegedly masturbating in the driveway of a city nursing home over the weekend and said it wasn't the first time they caught him in the act.
Officers were called about 1 p.m. to St. Regis Retirement Center in the 23000 block of Mission Boulevard for a report of a man acting suspicious in the bushes, Sgt. Mark Ormsby said.
Officers found the suspect, Ronald Ballard Slater, 54, in driveway masturbating, Ormsby said.
A check of Slater's criminal history revealed he'd been convicted of indecent exposure multiple times including two incidents in Hayward in 2006 and 2010, police said.
Officers arrested Slater -- a transient known to frequent Hayward -- on suspicion of one count of indecent exposure, one count of indecent exposure with a prior and one count of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Slater's jail records list his occupation as being a recycler. He is due in court this week at the Hayward Hall of Justice to be arraigned on the charges.
