FREMONT -- An injury crash involving a pickup truck forced the partial closure of a major roadway Monday morning, police said.
The driver of the truck, the only person in the car, suffered life-threatening injuries in the wreck, which occurred just after 12:35 a.m. when the truck hit a center divider on Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont police Sgt. Mark Dang said.
Police officers rendered first aid to the driver, who then was taken to a hospital by ambulance, Dang said.
Police shut down Paseo Padre Parkway between Sequoia Road and Peralta Boulevard to investigate, and sent out an advisory around 4 a.m. for motorists to avoid the area. The road was partly closed but was reopened by 11:15 a.m., police said. The cause of the wreck was being investigated, Dang said.
