PLEASANTON -- A former campus supervisor at the Livermore Valley Charter School arrested last month on suspicion of abusing a 14-year-old student has now been charged with molesting another student.
Jason Quero, 30, was arraigned Tuesday in Alameda County Superior Court on charges including felony oral copulation of a person under 16 and sexual penetration with a foreign object.
Before his arrest, Quero had worked at the school since 2005. While serving as a campus supervisor, Quero also contracted with the school to provide after-school karate lessons to students under the name Golden State Seibukan Academy.
In the first reported molestation, police said that Quero had sexually abused a 14-year-old female student at the school.
Quero was arrested on June 27 on suspicion of oral copulation and penetration with a foreign object for allegedly abusing that female student between 2010 and 2011, when she was 14.
Quero was released from custody on June 29 after he posted $400,000 bail, but according to a probable cause affidavit, police received information on July 2 that Quero had also molested a second victim.
That victim told police that she had several sexual encounters with Quero -- some during which he made her watch pornography and masturbate in front of him.
A warrant was issued for Quero on July 2 and he was arrested later that day at his in-laws' Livermore home, the affidavit states.
Quero had previously worked as a substitute campus supervisor at Arroyo Mocho Elementary School in Livermore from 2003 to 2005. Before that, he was a teacher's aide for the Livermore Area Recreation and Parks District from 2001 to 2003, also working at Arroyo Mocho Elementary School.
Court papers show he posted a $415,000 bond and is set to return to Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton on July 15 to enter a plea in both cases.
Police are asking parents to talk to any children who may have had contact with Quero. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Livermore police at 925-294-7531; tipsters can remain anonymous if they desire.
