OAKLAND -- An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death of a woman whose body was found Monday morning in the front yard of a vacant house in East Oakland, police said.
Police are also trying to identify the woman.
Oakland police Sgt. Eric Milina said there were no visible signs of trauma to the body and said at this point the case is being investigated as a suspicious circumstance unexplained death.
The woman was found about 7 a.m. in the front yard of the house in the 400 block of 105th Avenue by contractors doing work there.
It was not known how long the woman had been there before being found. Police said the contractors left the site about 6 p.m. Saturday and she was not there then.
