ANTIOCH -- Job seekers needing more education to get their foot in the door are invited to several presentations this month explaining how they can do it.

Opportunity Junction is working with Los Medanos College to provide individualized help for students taking short-term schooling to earn certificates in technical fields.

A nonprofit that helps low-income adults become self-sufficient, Opportunity Junction will offer career guidance as well as information about financial aid and help enrolling at LMC; after students complete the program, the organization also will work with them to find a job.

Those who apply for these services must be available to start classes at LMC in January 2015.

There will be three sessions providing more information:

  • 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 23

  • 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26

  • 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27

All meetings are at Opportunity Junction, 3102 Delta Fair Blvd., Antioch.

Food will be provided. For more information, call Natasha at 925-776-1133 or email natasha@opportunityjunction.org
