PITTSBURG -- Alumni of Pittsburg High School from throughout the 1970s are invited to a party in the streets of Old Town Pittsburg this weekend.
Third and Sixth streets.
Event organizers said the idea started in 2008 when four Pirate alumni from the class of 1974 were sitting outside of La Veranda Ristorante talking about the city's spruced up downtown and how great is would be to close the street and hold an event there.
The first "Decade reunion" was held in 2009, with more than 1,200 people attending.
"If you think about it, when you were a freshman, there were three grades above you, and when you were a senior, there were three grades below you, so that's a lot of people you may not have seen in a long time," said Freddy Ripoli, an event organizer. "So be able to socialize, it's a fun time."
This year's event will include bands Project 4 and Leo Vigil & the Rocking Horns playing live music, a DJ, and photo booths.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Food and beverages will be sold separately.
