OAKLAND -- Two men were shot and wounded within an hour Sunday night in different areas of Oakland, one by someone he saw breaking into a car and the other during an attempted robbery, police said Monday.
About 10:03 p.m. Sunday a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg in the area of 98th Avenue and B Street in East Oakland.
Police said the man had just left a residence and was getting into his car when he saw a man trying to break into a nearby parked car.
When he confronted the man he was shot.
The suspect fled and the wounded man got a ride to a hospital in another city where he was in stable condition.
At 9:19 p.m. Sunday a 53-year-old man was walking in the 1000 block of Willow Street in West Oakland when two men approached him.
Thinking he was going to be robbed, the man started running away and was shot multiple times in the abdomen and other parts of his body,
The suspects fled and the wounded man was taken to a hospital where he was in critical but stable condition.
