BERKELEY -- A mother and her daughter were hospitalized after they were hit by a taxi Tuesday night, police said.
The women and girl were walking west in the crosswalk when a vehicle traveling northbound hit them around 7:40 p.m. on the 2900 block of Claremont Avenue, according to Berkeley police.
The mother, 44, and daughter, 9, were injured and were transported to a hospital for treatment. The girl was seriously injured in the collision.
The 59-year-old cabdriver remained at the scene and cooperated with police during the investigation. Police said drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in this collision.
The driver was cited at the scene for failing to yield to the pedestrians in the crosswalk.
