OAKLAND -- A man shot to death in North Oakland Sunday afternoon was identified by authorities Monday as Jaccare Vanpelt, 21.
Vanpelt, who lived in the area, was fatally shot at 1:51 p.m. Sunday in the 6000 block of Idaho Street. He died at the scene.
Police said Vanpelt got into a confrontation with another person on the street before he was shot.
No motive has been determined yet and no arrests made, police said.
The killing was the 13th homicide of the year investigated by Oakland police. Last year at this time Oakland police had investigated 24 homicides.
