OAKLAND -- Firefighters extinguished a one-alarm house blaze Monday night, a fire dispatcher said.

A fire was burning on the second floor of a two-story residence about 9:13 p.m. in the 2700 block of Short Street, near Allendale Avenue, said a dispatcher for Oakland fire. No injuries were reported.

The fire was under control at 9:33 p.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
