LIVERMORE -- The Livermore Planning Commission on Tuesday will review a proposed housing development opponents say threatens open space near Altamont Creek in North Livermore.
San Ramon developer Lafferty Communities plans to build 47 single-family homes on 32 acres at the Garaventa Hills site east of North Vasco Road and north of Garaventa Ranch Road.
The development has drawn fire from a grassroots group of neighbors calling itself "Save the Hill," which says the homes will have negative impacts on the environment, scenic views of the nearby foothills, and traffic on Bear Creek Drive and Vasco Road.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 3575 Pacific Ave.
