The first installment of this year's property taxes are due Nov. 1 and will be considered delinquent if not paid by 5 p.m. Dec. 10. The second installment is due on Feb. 1 and is delinquent if not paid by 5 p.m. April 10. Delinquent owners will face a 10 percent penalty.
Payments can be made by mail or in person at the County Tax Collector's Office, 1221 Oak Street, Oakland, weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Property owners can also pay by credit card by calling 510-272-6800 or online at www.acgov.org. Another payment option is through eCheck, also available at www.acgov.org. Those who want to use a credit card or eCheck but avoid online payments, can visit the county's KIOSK system, located in the lobby of the tax collector's office.
Property owners who do not receive their tax bill by Nov. 16, should contact the tax collector's office in writing, calling 510-272-6800 or visiting www.acgov.org.
Tax bills received for property no longer owned should be forwarded to the new owner or returned to the tax collector's office.
