Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is eyeing an expansion to the East Bay with plans to open a tasting room in Berkeley. The Chico-based brewery, best known for its signature Pale Ale with the green label, would serve a variety of beers at the new Fourth Street location -- including a number of seasonal and custom brews not available in stores or bars.
The company applied last week for a liquor license, but has released few details about the tasting room and has not announced an opening date.
The Chico location houses the brewery's only other taproom, although the company will soon be pouring more pints on the East Coast -- it recently announced plans to open a brewery in North Carolina by 2014.
