Stanford men's basketball player Jeremy Green was arrested over the weekend at a campus dormitory on suspicion of felony domestic violence, campus police said Thursday.

The case is under investigation and no charges have been filed so far, said Bill Larson, spokesman for the Stanford University Department of Public Safety.

The Stanford athletic department announced Wednesday that coach Johnny Dawkins had suspended Green indefinitely for a "violation of team rules." It didn't disclose the nature of the violation.

Larson said deputies were called to the on-campus Mirrielees apartment building at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of assault, battery and domestic violence.

"They responded to the scene and determined these violations occurred," Larson said. "The victim suffered injuries as a result of an assault, and a suspect was arrested."

Green was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose.

Police didn't disclose any information about the victim.

Stanford officials couldn't immediately be reached for comment Thursday night.

Green, a 6-foot-4 sophomore from Austin, Texas, averaged 6.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game last season. He was named to the Pac-10 All-Freshman team.

His suspension came a week after the team lost freshman forward Andy Brown for the season with a knee injury.

North Carolina 20, No. 14 Virginia Tech 17: Casey Barth kicked a 21-yard field goal on the final play, and the visiting Tar Heels (5-4, 1-3 ACC) edged the Hokies (5-3, 3-2). North Carolina forced a fumble by Ryan Williams at his 24-yard line with 2:02 left and turned it into the winning drive. After six carries by Ryan Houston got it to the Virginia Tech 4, Barth's second field goal finished off the upset. North Carolina held Virginia Tech to just 95 rushing yards and rendered Williams, the nation's No. 7 runner with an average of 119 yards, ineffective for most of the game.

Connecticut: A UConn student committed an act terrorism by posting Internet messages telling people to "stop the snitching" after the stabbing death of cornerback Jasper Howard, university police said. Freshman Christopher Mutchler faces charges of hindering prosecution, committing an act of terrorism and several misdemeanors. He's due in court Nov. 10. John Lomax III, 21, was charged this week with murder.
