Roadwork that begins Monday on Highway 1 near Rocky Creek Bridge will not cause overnight closures in the first week as originally planned, Caltrans said Friday.
Daytime traffic will be stopped for 10 minutes at a time while crews prepare to install columns for a permanent viaduct.
Highway 101 to close while bridge removed
Highway 101 at Crazy Horse Canyon Road will be completely shut down for about 40 minutes early Monday while crews remove the temporary bridge that has spanned the highway for several months.
The closure will take place between midnight and 4 a.m.
The work is part of the Prunedale Improvement Project.
Tax measures panel discussion airs Monday
A panel of three local representatives discussing the merits of Propositions 30 and 38, moderated by Herald education reporter Claudia Meléndez Salinas, will air at 2 a.m., 8 a.m., 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday on MCAET.
The program can be seen on Comcast Cable Channel 26 and Digital Channel 38.2 in the Salinas/Monterey area, and on Charter Cable Channel 17 in North County. It is also available online through YouTube and Vimeo.
Christmas in the Adobes tickets soon on sale
Tickets for the annual Christmas in the Adobes go on sale Monday.
Tickets will be sold online at www.parks.ca.gov/mshporwww.montereystatehistoricparkassociation.org, or at the Cooper Museum Store, 525 Polk St.
Proceeds for the event, Dec. 7-8, support Monterey State Historic Park's children's educational programs.

Monterey County Free Libraries is seeking input from residents to create a new plan for their future.
