Pupusa meal set for Saturday
The annual Pupusa Meal at St. Stephen's Church is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday and will include a Salvadoran meal, a slideshow, and art and gifts from Guillermo Ungo, El Salvador, the church's sister parish. Proceeds will benefit scholarships for all levels of education, as well as the medical clinic in Guillermo Ungo.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $4 for children, and will be available at the door. St. Stephen's Lutheran Church is at 2500 Soquel Ave., Santa Cruz. For details, call 476-4700.
Guest speaker comes to Shorelife
Shorelife Community Church in Capitola will feature guest speaker Ray Brooks at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Brooks is founder and president of Real Joy Ministry and an international evangelist.

Holy Cross prayer service Tuesday
The final chapter of a yearlong monthly prayer service addressing issues surrounding sexual abuse will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Holy Cross Mission Chapel, 130 Emmet St., Santa Cruz
The presider will be Laurie Bair and the topic of her reflection will be "Does prayer make a difference?" This final gathering will also allow attendees to reflect on what the series has attempted to do and what still needs to change. As always, the blessing with spikenard balm will be administered during the service. The public is invited. For further information, call Bair at 423-6172.
