Of that, $4,000 is earmarked to provide for Library purchase of best sellers, fiction and non-fiction, for the collection.
According to Senior Librarian Pat Lambert the best sellers are the most popular additions and often have waiting lists.
The $1,000 remaining is to go for the audio-visual materials, processing and purchasing. The A-V materials were moved earlier this year to open shelving, purchased by the Friends of the Pomona Public Library, to provide easier access for patrons. The DVD movies and CD recorded books are popular items.
"We hope to have even more supporters help out with donations as we move through the Library wish list," said Friends President Gwen Robinson.
The next goal is to reach $3,000 for children's books and for the Adopt-a-Magazine program.
Donations may be mailed to Friends of the Pomona Public Library, P. O. Box 2271, Pomona, or on line at friendspomonalibrary.org/donations.
