Rancho Cucamonga: A Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. on the front steps of Alta Loma High School, 8880 Base Line Road. Hosted by the Alta Loma High Alumni Association, there will be a flag ceremony, color guard, rifle salute and speakers. Participation will include members of VFW Post 8680 and Chaffey High NJROTC. Riverside: San Jacinto resident and former prisoner of war Cecil Davis will be the keynote speaker at the 34th Riverside National Cemetery Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Davis will recount his experience as a POW after his B-17 was shot down and being freed when Allied forces liberated the Dachau prison camp.

Rancho Cucamonga: The city will have a celebration and community picnic from noon to 3:30 p.m. at Central Park. The Girl Scouts of Rancho Cucamonga are sponsoring a blood drive at the event the first 50 donors will receive two coupons from Chick-fil-A for a free sandwich and a coupon for a free Handles Ice Cream cone. The Girl Scouts will also be collecting aluminum cans and plastic bottles for recycling, flags for retirement and items for the USO.

Ontario: Ontario American Legion Post 112, in conjunction with Sons of the American Legion Squadron 112, will host Veterans Day commemorations at the post, 310 W.

Fontana: The Veterans Day event will be in front of the new Veterans Resource Center, 16799 Spring St., at 11 a.m. It will be followed by essays and poems recited by the winners of the Veterans Day Essay Contest. La Verne: The city and Band of Brothers VFW Post 12034 will hold a dedication ceremony for the La Verne Veterans Memorial at Bonita and Wheeler avenues. The event will begin at 11 a.m.
