The charity is asking the public for help in purchasing eyeglasses for students who cannot afford vision correction. All donated money is used to provide glasses for needy students, none goes to administrative costs.
Joining the Lions at the recent Sight for Success Kickoff were PUSD Board Member Roberta Perlman, Pomona Mayor Lion Elliott Rothman, PUSD Administrative Director of Pupil and Community Services Lion Fernando Meza, PUSD Health Services Program Administrator Lion David Larson, and former PUSD Health Services Director Lion Sheila Lyons.
Donations for eyeglasses through Sight for Success can be made two ways. The first is a straight donation of $50 per pair of glasses.
Donors will receive a Certificate of Appreciation, which lists the first name of the child and the grade level. Multiple donations can be made with honors receiving a certificate for each.
The second way is to donate a pair of glasses in someone's name. The certificate has two parts. The top part is the receipt for tax purposes, the bottom is given to the person being honored.
These dual certificates are appropriate for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions.
Each certificate has the tax ID number of the Pomona Host Lions Charities, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation.
Donations may be made to the Pomona Host Lions Charities, Inc.
