HAWTHORNE — A Hawthorne man has been arrested as a suspect in the rape of a woman who was sexually assaulted by someone she met through online dating.

Aaron Robinson, 32, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of rape, police said.

Police said Robinson met the victim online, and took her to a CVS store at 4775 Rosecrans Ave. to buy alcohol on Nov. 4. He then drove to his apartment and allegedly sexually assaulted her.

The victim did not know where the crime occurred, but knew he lived within three minutes of the CVS.

Police issued information about the crime this week and identified Robinson as a suspect.

Robinson was booked at the Hawthorne jail and held on $100,000 bail.
