LOS ANGELES - Police today investigated the slaying of a man in a car-to-car shooting in Wilmington.

The victim, who was around 40 years old, was in a pickup truck headed north in the 800 block of North Marine Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Thursday when he was shot multiple times in the torso, said Sgt. E. Jones of the Los Angeles Police Department's Harbor Station.

The red pickup crashed into several parked cars in the 900 block of North Marine, a news photographer reported from the scene.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Jones said, adding it was unclear if the shooting was gang-related.
