The food Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry and Kitchen needs volunteers to help pack Thanksgiving dinner baskets to distribute to families in need. Up to 30 volunteers are needed to pack the baskets. The organization is also seeking volunteers to help distribute the Thanksgiving packages to families in need. The organization is also seeking frozen turkey donations to help complete their holiday baskets.

Valley Churches United Missions Thanksgiving Project

The Valley Churches United Missions Thanksgiving Project provides Thanksgiving food baskets to families, seniors, disabled and homeless in San Lorenzo Valley, Scotts Valley and Bonny Doon. They are currently seeking volunteers to organize and assemble the Thanksgiving baskets. VCUM is open 7 days a week through Dec. 22. To volunteer or donate, call 336-8258.

Beach Flats Community Center Community Dinner

Join the Beach Flats Community Center's Thanksgiving dinner with all the turkey trimmings. The celebration is open to all community members, and especially supports homeless and low-income folks. Volunteers needed to help with the welcome table, set-up, serving, kids activities, and cleanup. Two-hour shifts are preferred.

Feeding the Spirit

Help serve a hot meal to homeless folks at the Homeless Services Center in honor of Thanksgiving. Volunteers may participate in one or more of the following activities: meal prep, food service, cleanup, assembling personal care packages (toiletries), taking a tour the Homeless Services Center and participating in activities to build awareness.

Community Connection Thanksgiving Meal

Community Connection is seeking up to five volunteers to support with preparing food for the Community Connection Thanksgiving meal. This is a free meal served to low-income, disabled folks in South County at the Watsonville Veteran's Hall. Volunteers needed to assist food prep, serving and especially with cleaning up the meal. Volunteer activities will take place at both the Watsonville Volunteer Center and the Watsonville Veteran's Hall.

Salvation Army Thanksgiving Meal

The Salvation Army needs volunteers on Thanksgiving day to help prep, set up and clean up their Thanksgiving meal. The meal is served at the Salvation Army and supports homeless and low-income individuals in the Watsonville Community. Volunteer shifts are divided into 45 minute blocks, but volunteers can stay for multiple shifts if desired.

Swing time Cafe Thanksgiving Meal Service

The Swing Time Café is seeking 20 to 25 volunteers to help prep, serve and clean up at their annual Thanksgiving luncheon. This free luncheon is held at the café (19 W. Lake Ave., Watsonville) and is open to all. The luncheon is intended to build community and meet the needs of homeless and low-income folks. Volunteers are especially needed to stay for cleanup from 2-3 p.m. Community service hours are also available for volunteers who can create a flier to promote the event.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve a Thanksgiving meal at Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes. Volunteers are needed for kitchen help, setting up the hall, meal service and cleanup. Volunteers are encouraged to dress warm and wear closed toe shoes.
