SANTA CRUZ - A 35-year-old Scotts Valley man was arrested Saturday after police caught him trying to sell a stolen bike on the Internet.
Saturday, police received a call from someone who had their bike stolen and saw it on a website, said police spokesman Zach Friend. Police arranged to meet the seller, Sam David Eglite, on the 200 block of Benito Avenue in Santa Cruz. Eglite showed an officer the bike, and the victim confirmed it was the same one, Friend said.
Police said Eglite also had some illegal pills on him.
Eglite, 35, was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and possession of stolen property, police said. He was held in County Jail on Monday in lieu of $5,000 bail, according to jail records.
