A total of 15 vehicles were stopped, according to a San Bernardino Police Department press release. Along with the single DUI arrest, 18 non-alcohol related citation were issued and three vehicles were impounded.
The saturation patrol program is a way for law enforcement to reduce the number of alcohol-related deaths on the roadways. The patrols help identify impaired drivers and take them off the roads and highways, officials said.
Funding for this program was provided by the Avoid the 25 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
