Man stable after being shot in head

A 19-year-old man was in stable condition Friday after being shot in the head about 4:45 p.m. Friday, police said.

The victim, Devante Arias, was airlifted to a San Jose trauma center with at least one gunshot wound to the head and one to the buttocks, police said. His condition will be better known after he is evaluated by a neurologist Saturday, police said.

The shooting, which appears to be gang-related, happened in the 1000 block of Garner Avenue. Police said witnesses saw a light brown or gold Toyota Camry with four men slowly pass by the house before the shooting and immediately after.

The shooter is 18 to 20 years old, police said.

Woman robs bank on North Main Street

An armed woman robbed a Chase Bank branch just after 5 p.m. Friday, police said.

The woman walked into the bank at 1596 N. Main St. and demanded money from an employee. She had a handgun with her and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
