LANCASTER -- Five burglary suspects seen carrying suitcases in Lancaster -- one was carrying a pistol -- were arrested, thanks to tips from neighbors, sheriff's deputies said today.

Alex Gillon, 18, and four boys, 16 or 17, were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of burglarizing a home in the 600 block of Oldfield Street and another in the 44400 block of Andale Street, according to deputies at the Lancaster station.

The suspects were found with a gun, jewelry and several rare coins taken from the home on Oldfield, deputies said.

Deputies first got a report of three young men climbing over a back fence and cutting through a neighbor's yard and started searching the area, deputies said.

Soon, deputies learned about the break-in on Oldfield Street, and more witnesses directed to them to the home on Andale Street. Two of the suspects were arrested outside, allegedly acting as lookouts, and the others were found inside.
