Man shot in arm, abdomen
A 23-year-old man was airlifted to a San Francisco Bay Area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds late Tuesday, Salinas police said.
Police responded to a shooting in the first block of Magnolia Drive about 8:45 p.m. and found the victim, who was hit once in each arm and once in the abdomen.
The victim was shot by an occupant of a silver-colored two-door vehicle, police said. A nearby residence also was struck, but no one inside was injured.
The victim's wounds do not appear to be life-threatening, police said.
Pot shop robbery leads to chase
Three men who led authorities on a high-speed chase from Santa Cruz to Monterey counties late Tuesday were wanted in the armed robbery of a Pleasure Point marijuana dispensary, according to the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
None of the three men who robbed the shop was apprehended, said Santa Cruz County sheriff's deputy April Skalland.
Three men arrived at Green Acres medical marijuana dispensary about 8 p.m. One of the men had a gun, and all three wore baggy clothes and had their faces covered.
They demanded cash and marijuana, took the items and fled.
Deputies chased their getaway car south on Highway 1 to rural Las Lomas, where the car crashed and the men scattered.
Man accused of sexual assault
A Greenfield maintenance worker accused of sexual assault was arrested about 3 p.m. Wednesday by Monterey
The victim said Eleazar Morales Garcia, 24, forced her to have sex and struck her in the face and body, the Sheriff's Office said.
Garcia was arrested at his work site and booked into Monterey County Jail.
Man robbed at knifepoint; three arrested
Three men were arrested in the knifepoint robbery of a man about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at North Madeira Avenue and East Market Street, Salinas police said.
The 30-year-old victim said he was knocked to the ground and held at knifepoint by one suspect as another stole his cellphone and wallet and the third suspect stood by, police said.
The robbers fled in a blue Chevrolet Tahoe, which drove by as police were investigating. Officers stopped the vehicle and arrested its occupants, identified by police as 18-year-olds Moises Valdez, Manuel Andrade and Francisco Zepeda.
They were booked into Monterey County Jail on charges of armed robbery, conspiracy and gang enhancements.
Three arrested after slow-speed chase
Three men were arrested after leading police on a 10-minute, low-speed chase through Salinas on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Police said the vehicle refused a traffic stop at Garner Avenue and North Sanborn Road about 3:40 p.m., resulting in a pursuit that ended at Williams Road near Alma Avenue.
A search revealed a firearm and methamphetamine with indication of sales, police said.
Police said the driver, Oscar Adrian Lopez, 21, faces charges of evading arrest and possession of methamphetamine for sales. Cesar Gomar, 18, was charged with possession of a firearm and Jose Castro, 18, was charged with possession of methamphetamine for sale, police said. All three are known gang members and also face gang enhancements, police said.
The three were booked into Monterey County Jail.
