Santa Claus is coming to Lomita and portions of unincorporated county areas near Rolling Hills Estates and San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes starting Sunday to Dec. 23. The visits are sponsored by and coordinated through the Lomita sheriff's station.

Children of all ages are invited to greet Santa and get a candy cane. A sheriff's patrol car will precede Santa's sleigh, announcing his arrival.

Here's Santa's schedule (weather permitting):

Sunday: County area of La Rambla near San Pedro (roughly bounded by Seventh Street, First Street, Meyler Street and Harbor View Avenue). 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Wednesday: Palos Verdes Peninsula -- Larga Vista tract; Montecillo tract. 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Thursday: Rancho Palos Verdes -- Caddington and Strathmore areas. 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Friday: Lomita -- Tree lighting at City Hall, 24300 Narbonne Ave. 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 8: Lomita -- Walnut Avenue (Pacific Coast Highway to Torrance border). 5:30-9 p.m.

Dec. 9: Lomita -- 241st Street, Pennsylvania Avenue, Hillworth Avenue, Saddleview Road, Esther View Road area. 5:30-9 p.m.

Dec. 12: Rancho Palos Verdes -- Dodson area (Montereina Drive, Avenida Aprenda, Pontevedra Drive, Toscanini Drive). 5:30-9 p.m.

Dec. 13: Rancho Palos Verdes -- Area around Silver Spur Elementary School, Basswood Avenue, Littlebow Road, Eau

Dec. 21: Rancho Palos Verdes -- Area around Vista Grande Elementary School, Lomo Drive, Abbottswood, Trailriders, Geronimo, Briarhurst and Golden Meadow drives. 5:30-9 p.m.

Dec. 22: Rancho Palos Verdes -- Mira Catalina area (Ganado), Vista Mesa area. 5:30-9 p.m.

Dec. 23: Seaview area (Schooner, Exultant and Admirable drives) and Forrestal area (Sea Raven, Pirate, etc). 5:30-9 p.m.
