FORA asked to reschedule meetings
The League of Women Voters has asked the Fort Ord Reuse Authority board of directors to reschedule its regular meetings to a time that allows more public participation.
The FORA board meets at 3:30 p.m. Fridays, with its meetings often running well into the evening. In a letter to the board Wednesday, league President Beverly Bean said the meeting often conflicts with social and weekend obligations, limiting both public attendance and focused participation by the directors.
Bean said a review of local cities, the county and a number of regional boards showed none met on Fridays. She recommended the board move its meetings to Monday evenings, when working residents can attend.
