SaeHee Hong, a senior at Pacific Lutheran High in Torrance, is the first female student in the school's 17-year history to earn a perfect SAT score in math.

Of the 1.5 million high school students who take the SAT exam every year nationwide, about 10,000 achieve a perfect score. This means SaeHee outperformed 99.93 percent of the nation's test-takers.

The school's principal, Lucas Fitzgerald, said her achievement "is a testament to her diligence as a student, her God-given academic aptitude and fine instruction by her mathematics teachers."
