SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Authorities say a Nevada woman has been found and taken to a hospital after she and a Nevada man left a Sacramento suburb during bad weather on a drive through the Sierra Nevada.
Citrus Heights police spokesman Officer Bryan Fritsch says 46-year-old Paula Lane was found in Alpine County around 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Fritsch says she was taken to a hospital, but had no immediate details of the nature of her injuries.
Fritsch says a body of a man was found nearby but did not say if it was that of 44-year-old Roderick Paul Clifton. Fritsch says the couple's car had apparently become stuck in snow.
Clifton and Lane had been the subject of a search after visiting relatives in Citrus Heights -- a suburb of Sacramento -- and leaving Thursday afternoon to drive back to their home in Gardnerville, Nev.
The couple began their trip about the same time a major storm was moving into the area, and never made it to their destination.
