The agency has requests for toys for about 900 children but so far as collected only enough for about 500. The agency has assembled enough food boxes for all the families but are well short of toys.
The Salvation Army worked with the Tots for Tots organization which gave it two locations to pick up additional donated toys.
However, through a miscommunication, those extra toys were not available at the locations, causing the crisis for the agency.
Pomona Corps Officer Javier Castro will be at the offices Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for anyone able to donate toys. The agency is at 490 E. La Verne Ave.
