Nathan Gastineau of Redlands, whio was based at the sheriff's Highland station, is scheduled to be back in San Bernardino Superior Court on Feb. 22 for a readiness hearing. A jury trial is now scheduled to begin on Feb. 25.
Gastineau was in court Friday for a pre-trial hearing. His attorney, Andrew Haynal, asked for new trial dates because he has several trials pending, according to court records.
Deputy District Attorney Bobbie Mann objected to the request, due to the "age of the case," but Judge William Jefferson Powell said other cases take priority and found "good cause to continue the trial," according to court records.
Gastineau admitted to having sex with a teenage girl involved with the sheriff's Explorer program, authorities said.
Court documents prepared by sheriff's detectives show that investigators found a video and photos of Gastineau having sex with the girl when she was 15, authorities said.
Gastineau was arrested on April 22, 2011, on suspicion of having sex with the girl. He was charged June 10 with three counts of lewd acts with a child and three counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.
