GLENDORA - A driver was rescued Thursday morning from a car that went 300 feet over the side of a road in the Angeles National Forest north of Glendora.

The crash happened on Glendora Ridge Mountainway near Glendora Mountain Road around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, a Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatcher said.

A paramedic was lowered to the patient, who was then hoisted up to the road, the dispatcher said.

The driver, the only person in the car, was taken to a hospital trauma center in a helicopter, according to the dispatcher. No medical condition was immediately released.
