A hatchling loggerhead sea turtle is headed for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The turtle tad could go on exhibit as early as Friday in the aquarium's Open Seas galleries depending on a veterinary exam.

Aquarium curator Steve Vogel is transporting the young turtle from the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores.
