The Inland Empire is expected to get a break from the soggy weather for today's holiday celebrations.

Monday's storm dropped more than one-third of an inch of rain in areas including San Antonio Heights, Ontario, San Bernardino and Rialto. But forecasters say it will be clear and sunny today.

The next storm should move through the area early Wednesday, bringing as much as a third of an inch of rain. The snow level in the San Bernardino Mountains could drop to around 4,500 to 5,000 feet, Stall said.

That's when ski resorts expect skiing and snowboarding to kick into high gear. Officials at Mountain High Ski Resort in Wrightwood said Christmas tends to be a slow day for the mountain, but they anticipate crowds on Wednesday.

The resort reported on its website that the mountain has received a foot of snow so far this season.

The storm should move out of the area by Thursday morning.

Stall said Friday should be a dry day, followed by another possible storm on Saturday.
