Ahwahnee kicks off Chefs' Holidays
The 28th annual Chefs' Holidays series at Yosemite's historic Ahwahnee hotel next month will see 25 chefs from New York to Los Angeles converging in the national park about four hours east of Santa Cruz.
Headliners this year include Douglas Keane of the former Cyrus in Healdsburg; Mark Sullivan of San Francisco's Spruce; Joey Elentario of Chez TJ in Mountain View; and cookbook ghostwriter Andrew Friedman.
Guests will have a chance to attend a "Meet the Chefs" reception, a trio of cooking demonstrations and tastings, a behind-the-scenes kitchen tour, and a five-course gala dinner with wine pairings, served by candlelight in The Ahwahnee's Dining Room.
The event runs Jan. 6-31. Lodging packages start at $332 and $449 and include admission for two to the Chefs' Holidays events. Tickets for the Gala Dinner are available for $199 per person, including gratuity. Tax is not included. Call 801-559-4903 or visit www.yosemitepark.com/chefs-holidays.
