SAN BERNARDINO - A British national accused of flying to the United States to have sex with an underage Highland girl pleaded not guilty on Monday.

Adam James Michael Robinson, 21, entered the pleas to six counts he faces following his arrest Thursday at a Redlands motel, according to court records.

He allegedly had several sexual encounters with the Highland girl, including two on Dec. 23, according to a felony complaint filed by the District Attorney's Office.

Robinson's bail was set at $1.5 million and a pre-preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 9 at 8:30 a.m. in Department S22 of the San Bernardino County Superior Court.

Judge William Jefferson Powell will hear the case.

Robinson, who lives 37 miles south of London, England, traveled to the U.S. on Dec. 15, the day of the first alleged sexual encounters, according to Redlands police.

Robinson had at least six encounters with the girl over two days - four times on Dec. 15 and twice on Dec. 23, cccording to the criminal complaint.

The girl's parents learned about the relationship and took her to the sheriff's Highland station where they filed a report.

It was unclear how the girl's parents learned about the relationship.

Robinson met the girl online and established a relationship with the her over the course of a year, authorities said.
